Local-first by default. Clear about what stays on device.
Provato is designed to work without a Provato account. Your items, logs, ratings,
notes, tags, and most app data stay on your iPhone unless you intentionally use a
system feature such as location lookup or in-app purchases.

Short version
Your data stays on your iPhone by default.
Provato stores your collection data locally on device. Today the app does not require
a Provato-operated account system or a general cloud backend to create items, add
logs, or browse your history.
If the product ever adds real cloud sync or account-based features, this page will be
updated alongside that change.
At a glance
Items, logs, notes, tags, and custom fields are stored locally on device.
Photo, camera, and location access are optional and only used when you trigger
those features.
Provato does not use ad networks or third-party analytics SDKs.
Purchases may involve Apple and the purchase provider for entitlement validation.
1. On-device data
Provato keeps your tracker data local-first.
Your items, logs, ratings, notes, dates, tags, and custom fields are stored on your
device. Provato does not send that core tracker data to a Provato-operated server for
basic app usage.
2. Permissions
Photos and location are optional.
Provato only asks for photo library or camera access if you choose to attach an
image. Location access is only relevant if you decide to search for or save a
location with a log.
When you use location lookup, the request is handled through the device location
services stack rather than a custom Provato places database.
3. Purchases
Unlocking Provato Plus uses purchase infrastructure, not ad tech.
If you purchase or restore the one-time Provato Plus upgrade, Apple and the app's
purchase infrastructure provider may process the transaction details needed to validate
that entitlement.
That purchase flow is separate from your personal logs and is not used for targeted
advertising.
4. Ads and analytics
No ads and no third-party analytics SDKs.
Provato is not built around ad targeting, data resale, or behavioral profiling. The
app does not include third-party analytics tooling for profiling how you use your
personal collection data.
5. iCloud and future sync
iCloud capability is prepared, but real sync is not active today.
The iOS build already includes iCloud entitlement wiring so backup or sync can be
added later. That future-facing setup does not mean Provato currently runs a live
cloud sync service for your collection data.
6. Policy changes
If the data model changes, this page changes too.
If Provato later adds accounts, live sync, shared collections, or new third-party
services, the privacy policy will be updated before or alongside that release so the
behavior is explicit.
